Rockbridge, Illinois

Rockbridge Mills was the name of the mill and settlement in 1826. A covered bridge with massive rock abutments was built to span the Macoupin Creek, and so in 1849 the post office and town became know as Rockbridge. Rockbridge had a large and active stockyard until the 1930's.
